Simple Acne Treatment Tips

  1. Apply a honey mask

It is advisable to apply a honey mask twice a week. Honey has antibacterial properties so it is great for disinfecting and healing minor blemishes. It is also gentle on sensitive skin. You can also mix honey and cinnamon to make a mask. They make a killer combo when it comes to acne. Cinnamon has antimicrobial properties, so it can help stop bacteria from getting out of hand. If it does, the honey is a natural anti-biotic, ready and waiting to wipe the little buggers out.

  1. Apply apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has tremendous properties as a remedy for acne. It kills off the bacteria that causes the trouble in the first place. Apple cider vinegar acts like an astringent, like lemon juice, and helps dry up excess oil. Use a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and apply it directly to your blemish with a cotton ball. Reapply several times a day, washing face thoroughly after each time.

  1. Keep your hands away from your face

You may not realize it, but popping a pimple only aggravates it more. It is only a temporary relief, but touching and popping pimples can only accentuate the problem. Don’t let your hands touch your face very often. It can spread bacteria, cause infections or further more pimples, something you certainly do not want.

Most of our mothers recommend home remedies to treat acne naturally. We couldn’t agree any more. Eating oily and greasy food like chocolates or junk food doesn’t do much good to our skin while eating grains, fruits and vegetables helps us in keeping it healthy and pimple free.

  1. Use makeup sparingly

Avoid applying a lot of foundation or powder during a breakout. Choosing an oil-free cosmetic without added dyes and chemicals can work wonders. Even if you do wear makeup, wash it off at the end of the day. Choose makeup that is labeled as “noncomedogenic,” meaning it should not cause acne.

  1. Keep your hair off your face

Pull those fringes and long hair away from your face. The oil in your hair will contribute to your breakouts. Leaving overnight oil on your hair can cause pimples as the hair touching your face will make your skin oily. Wash your hair regularly and don’t let them fall on your face. Also go easy on products like hair gels, fragrances and deodorants as they can clog up the skin pores leading to pimples.
